Currently working as a project manager at an Amsterdam-based creative agency, Anneke Coppoolse (1982) will graduate from the University of Amsterdam in 2009. Majoring in Media and Culture Studies. Her M.A. thesis focuses on representations of ‘everyday life’ in contemporary Chinese cinema.
Coppoolse’s interest in other cultures extends beyond academia. She has spent time in China – where she edited a movie highlighting Chinese female rock musicians – as well as in the Kenyan slum of Kibera. Here, she was a volunteer on a project that aims to give a voice to Kibera youth by encouraging them to express their stories through video.
